Accessibility
This website is meant to work for everyone — including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology.
Our standard
This site is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We treat accessibility as a design requirement from the start, not a final check.
What we've built in
Structure & navigation
- A "skip to main content" link on every page
- Consistent landmarks, headings, and page structure for screen readers
- Every feature works by keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator
- No information conveyed by color alone
Content & forms
- Text alternatives and written descriptions for every map, plan, and diagram
- Nothing essential exists only inside a PDF — everything is also on-page HTML
- Form errors are announced, listed, and linked to the field to fix
- Pages reflow without horizontal scrolling down to small phone screens
Display settings
The Display settings button at the top of every page lets you choose a larger text size and a light or dark color theme. Your choice is saved on your device. These controls add to — and never replace — your browser's own zoom, contrast, and motion settings, which this site also respects.
Testing
Automated checks (axe-core, WCAG 2.2 A/AA rulesets) run against every page of this site, and mobile reflow is verified at small screen widths. Manual testing — full keyboard walkthroughs, NVDA and VoiceOver screen-reader passes, magnification, and mobile assistive-technology checks — is scheduled before public launch.
Known limitations
- The narrated presentation videos do not yet have synchronised captions. A full written transcript of each recording is published on this site in the meantime.
- Project graphics are taken from the presentation slides, so they are at slide resolution; each one carries a written description.
- The full privacy and public-records language for the comment form has not yet been published.
Alternate formats & reporting barriers
If any part of this site or its documents is difficult for you to use, or you need information in another format (such as large print or an accessible file), please contact the project team — your report will be reviewed and addressed.
